Partitioned love

Decade of longing,

change in destination,

scars,

wrinkled faces,

twisted voyage,

 stormy affair,

a sea of lifetime,

beyond birth and death,

wheel of time,

decrepit building,

dusted civilization,

raw emotions,

a nest,

birds flocking,

in quest of an identity,

survival,

trees razed off,

when humans simply ceased to be,

in search of,

uprooted land,

partitioned love,

Has anyone seen her?

i shall never be tired of waiting!

Bajirao makes Mastani with Band, Baaja aur ek chutki sindoor ki keemat

Band bajaa baraat on Twitter. The garish clothes worn by Ranveer Singh may just be passé and for one last time, he may just dance in his own wedding, khud ke shaadi mein Ranveer Deewana.

Deepika! You broke my heart but for one last time, give an ultimatum to your soon-to-be-would be-husband to get rid of colorful Santabanta meets Baba Ramdev attire or else call off the wedding! He could well be the brand ambassador of Pantanjali and swinging his body in yoga style.

Karni Sena must be fuming for Khilji will finally take saat phera with Padmavati! The feeling of a condom bursting open to be filled with water before the act and so much for water conservation, Dear Karni sena! I feel for you guys. Maybe you should protest that Ranveer Singh must dress properly as the groom and cut the hair not to do Thattad Thattad! Bechari Deepika. She is no abla naari and may well shop for her groom to avoid censorship of the biggest 100 crores wedding this November. Who else to give some fashion tips to the groom and the bride! Karni Sainik may well have a change of heart what with the wedding adding a Rajput theme, aan and ashaan!

Every Gunday has its day to triumph with his bride for Sanjay Leela Bhansali may well do the honors...only naamkaran and no change of name. Ek chutki sindoor ki keemat tum kya jaano, Ranveer babu! I’m still pinning my hope for some last minute drama a la Padmavati and a climax in a desi, modern version of The Runaway Bride. Deepu! You broke my heart into tiny pieces with this Lootere! How about leaving him! You can have my word for I will never wear such colorful clothes like your groomy boy and hate everything garish.

Save water! Ranveer and Deepika will teach not just water conservation but how not to spend their own money to grow them rich! Itna kanjoos! No surprise for Ranveer Singh is Sindhi and will dance at his own sangeet, be the bandh, baaja aur baarati so save every drop of crore. The Newsmaker of the year is no doubt Ranveer and Deepika stealing the thunder under any nose to suddenly say Metoo! Arre bhai matlab Kabool, I do and wanna get hitched forever. See! They are no Chetan Bhagat and Ira Trivedi release of emails to compete on who writes better English to protect well their virgin reputation with love and kisses.

Now what with celebrities fixation for a spot under the sun and bhaag ke shaadi karna? Running away to get married in a phoren destination should be our national sport and not hockey! First Anushka and Virat and now apna Deepika-Ranveer on their Italian escapade. Everyone is bent to become a brand ambassador of not India but exotic location for their wedding. Makes me wonder what Modi Ji will think about Incredible India campaign?

Any idea about the Suhaag Raat! You silly I am not thinking about Durex, the condom endorsed by Ranveer Singh. I think Deepu will teach him badminton on the night and how to play it right...having perfected the art of net practice. Think sasurji Prakash Padukone. The Bajirao gets his Mastani in style!

Path of happiness

Free yourself,

dance in the rain,

soak the skin,

rain is heaven,

tread on the edge,

splash of happiness,

risk everything,

kiss danger,

embrace fear,

throw away this baggage,

make this child your friend?

wink at the stranger girl,

sing loudly on the road,

ask a dime,

fling the coin in the sea,

whisper the biggest secret to the waves,

sleep on the sand,

tread on this aimless destination,

go penniless,

yeah baby,

the only way,

create the path of happiness.

A heart to love

No love,

warring hearts,

wielding sword of emotions,

wedge,

shorn of reasoning,

come closer babe,

lose this peace,

delete all brain talk,

control,

not worth it,

we are no computer code language,

chuck out this turmoil,

not for us,

drop the weapons,

feelings don’t slug,

no nobel prize,

or claiming a trophy,

a date,

some laughs and teasing,

an innocent kiss,

complete this cycle,

fill in the blanks,

replace head with heart,

not tail.

Saturday whisper

Too much of social media makes 'Jack' me a dull boy. Twitter is getting to me what with slug fests taking the form of misogynists questioning victims on metoo campaign and extremists on the whole Sabrimala justifying violence against women. Hello! negativity! I am off Facebook for sometimes and may get back briefly in another fortnight before exiting again. The hitch about social media is that it sucks the energy  at times, though merit lies in the metoo campaign exposing sexual predators. One of the best things happened where women are speaking freely without fear of persecution and after all, credit goes to social media witnessing fallen heroes like MJ Akbar, Suhel Seth and Nana Patekar and their ilk. The post is not about them but a typical day in my life. Yes! I am on a reading spree after ages post my lipoma surgery with no yoga or jogging for 2 weeks time. Here we go on the Saturday that came and flew!

8.00 a.m:

Tossing on bed and waking up with a pain in the leg. Ouch! I sat paralyzed for few seconds and making the effort to walk straight. I start the day with a warm mug of water and a cup of Twining tea bag which the cousin brought from UK.

9.00 a.m:

The plaster on the back has been bugging me for 2 weeks after the minor lipoma surgery and what with the scratching which they tell is a sign of healing. I just got the plaster removed today and feels like a hulk becoming human, breathing fresh air. Checking Twitter and Linkedin what with ugly squabble in full swing. I read a couple of pages in Lokmanya Tilak biography, the movement for Independence in India, political machination to jail him and of course, the freedom fighter being one of the co-founders of the alma mater Fergusson College. It's not that Tilak was unblemished since he was quite a conservative figure in Pune politics. A heavy 650 odd pages and take it upon myself to wrap it in 10 days' time.

10.00 a.m:

Attending a prayer meet of aunty who suddenly passed away weeks back. Those days priests cannot be trusted-ok may be I'm generalizing here, but the guy came one hour plus late without informing. One of my pet peeves since I am stickler for time. Common sense tells if someone is not able to make it on time, better inform and always think about people sacrificing their half day to attend a ceremony. It certainly looks bad and what with the funny sermon stretching the whole thing beyond time and imagination when everyone sat on an empty stomach.

11. 30

A little bit of chat with elders in the family and got to learn so much from them about the practicality of things, not complicating matters and striving to be a better human being minus the stereotypical religious cum rules burden. A heavy lunch follows and put it that way, over indulging and wondering on my calories and cholesterol hitting a record high.

14/15 p.m:

Post the heavy duty Indian lunch, my friend P concocts a digestive kind of green tea with honey, jelly, tea bag, ginger and green plants cultivated in the garden. I had my reservation and wondering on the bitterness. But, glad of being wrong since the concoction makes an absolutely delightful with feeling of positivitea of sweetness. Hail the age old and traditional recipe to prevent bloating and what's not!

17-18 p.m

I reach home to catch for some sleep but only to see this little monster, three year old neighbor hopping straight inside my room to play. The thing with kids is no matter how tired you are, they know how to have their ways and make you smile. Finally, I crash for one hour. Post winter, it's getting hot and the ceiling fan is roiled back to steam after the clunky voice disappeared during the cold. The lost friend makes its appearance with summer calling.

18.30 p.m:

Feeling like a new born and furtively opened my eyes with a beatitude smile. I slept for some time and got out of the house, back to meeting the friends, giving them company and dining with the prayer food.  I turned into a teenage with the young friends playing hide-and-seek with them.

22.00 pm:

Back home to snuggling with kindle book and  hardcover on the bed but lacked the courage for some extensive reading. Finally, I wrapped up Shaheen Bhatt's book, 'I've never been Un (Happier)' on her struggle with mental health for 14 years. Since, I suffer from depression and anxiety, there are so many instances in the book to relate with and the constant worry about suicidal thoughts that plagued me in the not-so-recent past. One day, I shall write about my ongoing struggle but cherry on cake, the book has done wonders to the mind. I try to sleep and it's getting hot in the night.

Ciao

Path of thorn

Fragile mind,

at mercy and behest of ghoul’s power,

flustered,

double edged sword,

split forces,

wrecking havoc,

ripped of identity,

my everything,

darkness,

wearing white,

longing for light and purity,

eluded hope,

lost battle,

feeble win,

an endless road,

 triumph is an illusion,

no fiction,

days like that,

bitterness,

marching on thorns.

Who am I?

Who am I?

meaningless form in clay,

molded into human,

my skin,

raw nerves,

emotions,

are they all fake?

is the energy only real?

why this fear to facing the mirror?

tapping into the energy’s pulses?

am I really real!

or a mere shallow shadow,

may be!

actually got a better idea,

paler version of my own self,

wrinkled! skins shall be,

hair shall be grey one day,

if it’s not already!

dyeing to hide the greyish stresses,

like the smile covering the flaws, angst, pain and real me!

still a question!

who am I?

Words and the mighty Pen

The pen is your sword,

vanquish the foe not with force,

but words,

heal the heart,

make love with our variegated thoughts,

beautiful gift on earth,

 inheriting ink and feathers,

writing genes,

I owe it to the energy,

deriving strength,

empowering a brewing mind,

bringing the soul an inch closer to the universe,

my power is embedded in the stories,

imaginary,

characters flowing straight from a silly mind,

words maketh duality alive,

voices speaking to me,

no vices,

 mightiest sword.

Happy marriage, unhappy you and Fat family

Picture is for representational purpose only. Source: https://www.parekhcards.com

Threat and ultimatum of marriage resemble a time bomb and is worse for girls past the mid-20s. For men like me in the mid-30s-the age is a deep dark secret- we are not spared by the bua, phuppa, pesky uncle ji and aunty ji, nana, dadi and even younger folks doling gyaan on marriage as if it gives them an erection.

Why do people marry? For love, companionship and fulfilling parents’ will or the innate fear of being alone. Another bigger reason and biggest truth brushed under the carpet, for sex when there is insecurity of not getting any. Yes! Trust me, people marry for sex and a crude way of putting it, getting their fair share of banging.

The pet peeves I personally come across are uber-conservative folks hinting on happiness being irrelevant to fulfilling sacred obligations for parents.  I shall skip this bit about marrying for parents but one question is if H for happiness is not important, how do we explain the growing rate of divorce, separation or outside affairs? Certainly, the law that criminalized adultery until a few days back didn’t deter people from having sex outside marriage! Think! Think!

Marriage is a choice so is ‘one-night stand’. Of course, the moral issue may linger above the legal scheme of things. One cannot make a choice to be unhappy in life so that our folks become the happiest on earth. I keep getting all kind of gyaan on my impending marriage and the whys of forever delaying being settled as if the former is some nobel prize to procreate. The worst thing is when we think about folks caught in a catch 22 situation in a marriage and choosing to hide behind the entire ‘children’ argument in an effort to mask suffering or the lack of spine to break-away.

Looking at the bigger picture, the entire thing whittles to sexuality and desire versus the ingrained fear of family which prevents individuals from breaking away from the shackle of an unconsummated marriage. Alternately, suppression of emotional and sexual desires never reaches the climax. This holds true for singles, divorcee or married alike.  Are you going to look for happiness in an institution scripted by the world, read parents? Since you played no intrinsic role in its making, what is the guarantee it will become a successful model? Marriage as a club or institution you commit to is no less than a business model. What’s the use of a system lacking passion, half-baked hearts into a venture with no trace of happiness?

Listen to your heart and be true to the self in chartering the individual path and jump into the bandwagon only if you willing or committed to. Never do anything for anyone else but yourself in finding the space to glow, blossom and grow. The society is made of people like us who created culture, again something not infallible and we cannot be dictated by a group of people on doing on what is good or morally right for us. Choose happiness and being one’s own self against any shit spread by society or so-called culture.

Happy Sunday

Things I didn't do Today

As much as we try to be a pro or stickler for details, there are so many things that we fail to do or too lazy in the humdrum of everyday life. I am no different when it comes to skipping things on my radar.

1. I missed the morning yoga since was too busy in mindless stuff, gulping coffee and eating my soojee prepared by Mom.

2. Forget to give Mom some cash since she was going to the market for vegetables. The bad me and the fear of missing the bus to office made me go blank!

3. Didn't write in the agenda diary on the tasks that gotta do for the day and the risk is the mind space becoming like Mumbai, overcrowded and footpath for survival.

4. Skipped sending an important work-related email to friend that my boss been telling me to. The perk of doing this silly post is therapeutic and works well as a reminder.

5. In a hurry, forget or pretending, to arrange the bed and put the blankets in place.

6. The cylinder gas will get over today and while having a shower, realized that they geyser showed signs of dying, turning from hot water to warm. First thing, gotta tell mom as I reach home and change the cylinder that will die a slow but painless death.

7. I'm truly awesome! Forgot telling it to myself. Awesome to forget or pretending to, at least.

sweet and sour lemons

I missed a punch,

tripped and ducked,

knocked thousand times,

not down and out,

counting failures and heartbreaks,

on the finger tip,

art of making lemons out of nothing,

an artsy affair,

mundane and everyday tale,

till my last breath, ain’t gonna stop!

sprinkling sourly taste,

sweet mouth,

in the face of disappointment,

bittersweet,

chocolate fudge smile,

spreading hearty vibe and sunshine,

to the heartless and ruthless,

I keep on going,

the world my violin,

whose gonna stop, my beautiful heart?

I dare the vilest!

Ten personal Quotes

Collection quotes and hoarding newspaper cut out was a favorite thing buried in the past and never thought could be a wordsmith. Feeble inspiration came when I was in a relationship and nursing heartbreak, reading the quotes and collecting them, the first thing to look in newspapers. It's another story that I spun the newspaper quotes in my own reflection and forwarded it on sms that was quite a huge thing in the past now lost in translation. Today, I share ten of my quotes, weaved by the silly mind that didn't look for quote masters or newspaper inspiration and truly original. Hope you will like them.

“You are success. Failure can never rule you. Whip this storm called success to make it your own.”

“I fear not death for it’s an integral part, my shadow lingering and the end shall be the new me, Karmic connection of my being.”

“Why call it unrequited love to feel you never loved in the first place. Dance and make mad love with rejection and celebrate break up for You are love.”

“Don’t threaten to slap and avoid me but love your beautiful hand to caress my face with your stamp to book me for life.”

“Kiss is what I long for, deep and passionate for my soul to dance with envy, swirling like the ice cream.”

“I don’t call it break up but the soul’s liberation eluding my obsessive mind. We live without each other with each other, your senses, the linens scattered on the bed, scent of your lip and jet black hair, the image of your sensual, naked self walking inside the room. The day you stop haunting me, it shall be a break up.”

“Shorn of my clothes, I bear no shame for the soul stand naked in front of everyone to see not my flesh but a beautifully uncensored me.”

“There was a time, there is a time and will be a time when your love loomed larger and disappeared in the distance. Your shadow shone like the glittering moon and faded away in the silent night to wipe my tears, happiness and constant heart beat.”

“I am Truth. I am the cloud. I am the sky. I am God. I am Sex. I am never ashamed neither you should about ME.”

“Love is intriguing but then ghosts live in the imagination in the heart’s temple.”

Desire and a sensual woman

Unabashedly narcissistic,
veil of sensuality,
sexuality draped on her soul,
unapologetic about life choices,
drinking is an art,
alcohol caressing her lip,
like a passionate kiss
enigma,
haunting smile,
we could’ve been stranger lovers,
 victims of unrequited love,
pure sparkle,
scent touching the nerves,
I shall admire you by a distance,
making imagined wild and mad love to you,
caressing the flesh,
bold, brazen and free-spirited,
hotness makes your intellect,
I’m just knocked off the perfect.

Myth of darkness

Darkness is beautiful,

myth,

intriguing,

engulfed in silence,

haunting,

eerie,

a lone companion,

unspoken words to sky and stars,

loyal friend,

wearing no judgment,

a cloak of shadow and hope,

wings to the unrequited dreams,

antidote to the shadowy night,

music,

in its midst,

i shall not yearn for company,

breaking free from the world’s shackles, people, prejudices and love,

cease to exist,

aimless destination and void,

fickle emotions,

tiny dots of light eluding,

waning moon,

darkness is my identity,

swaying to its tune,

a single beat,

no question asked.
