What is love?

What is love?
tinkling of heartbeat,
sleeplessness,
waking up at night
gaping the ceiling,
 eyes wide open,
smiling for no reason,
laughing at every silly joke,
jettisoned in the air,
you know that feeling, right!
tracing name in the sky,
love does crazy things,
dancing to weird song,
flashing tooth and grin to strangers,
penning imaginary poems,
singing praise to human emotions,
a boy who love, not once or twice,
 innumerable times,
drum heart shall beat again,
alcohol feels sexy,
hey! I’m not in love.

Fiction: The impermanence of everything

The door yanked open. A ruffle of wind in burst almost pushed the skinny body jerking upward and backward, the balance tilted just in time by the semi brown classic shoes, hand glued to the wall. The legs became numb and a burning sensation rippled through the skin as cold wave seeped through. Mike lost his way and wandered aimlessly like the night's vagabond, emptying a bottle of Vodka quenching his thirst and warming the body in the frozen winter. Alcohol washed all the pains and troubles of a broken marriage.

A floor littered with fags end, crumpled papers, alcohol bottle whose stench wafted in the dimly lit room and thick dust which would make anyone ran away. He liked it that way, the obnoxious smell of everything, the tiny bed lying in a corner and black and white TV in this garbage called a room. No one to make love to after the wife of ten years slapped the door and a lawsuit on him for his alcoholic ways or the apple of his eyes, the only two-year-old daughter adopting a new father to disown her legitimately, natural one.

The saga continued uninterruptedly like the monsoon in the city for days, weeks and months, cheap alcohol, cigarette, drugs and a new girl every night. The doting father has turned into a pleasure seeker, destroying every moment of his life every moment till the monsoon washed the entire building that crumbled and collapsed. Like every resident of the old building, there was no sign of Mark who the world told swam in blood coalesced into the angry water to meet his end. He became history. The heavy rain washed his pain and trauma which no alcohol, fags or women could do.

On the banks of Vanarasi, sat a white man adorned with wooden amulets, flower garlands and ring as the conch blew for the evening arati lighting up the old city. An old friend could recognize the fresh face behind the unkempt beard and dressed in saffron robe who whispered into his ear, "Dead to the world, how can you fool me, Sadhu Mark?" The Sadhu remain unaffected and gently touched the shoulder of the stranger, "You may be the friend to a certain Mark who died six months ago in the heavy rain. Nothing is permanent, my son and belongings are just an illusion, sex, love, life, and property. Bondage is the biggest lie. Go ahead for the arati."

The Sadhu went into his world of trance and no protest from an old chum would perturb him from his task. He was a changed man with a new identity, sprinkling blessings on travelers and visitors. The saffron-clad religious man got up, trotted his naked feet and took a dip in the Ganga.

Five things to do in the rains

The heavy monsoon that continues unabated for hours, days or week puts you under house arrest and helpless on seeing the plans go kaput. No choice but to stay in the room or house to watch the sea waves crashing, tide rising and heavy wind bursting out.

1. Read a good book. Rain serves as a good excuse to drench knee deep not in the water but the world of fiction, from mushy rom-com to a terrific thriller that offers fodder for thought in swaying into the untold universe and also pushing you to pen a good fiction, making a writer out of nothing in us.

2. Pen a short story. Love to dabble into fiction to curate content on the blog or doing a collection of shorties! Rain is the savior to make you not only a writer but concocts the perfect temperature of cold, breeze and the silent corner. What better to sit all by oneself in a soothing set up, enjoy the pitter-patter of water falling on your window sills to sketch characters as you are trapped in the monsoon.

3.  Get high on booze. Monsoon is the perfect time to get high on alcohol by calling a few friends at home or on your own downing pegs to treasure your blessed life, reflecting on every small thing or be at peace. Rain and alcohol go together with light music in giving wings to conquer your dreams. Go and conquer the world.

4. Take a dip. A blissful season and no, I am not telling to throw your airplane designed stomach or round body in the sea but it's unadulterated fun to thrust away the black umbrellas famous during the Mumbai monsoon. Let the hair down, drench yourself from top-to-toe by walking barefoot at Marine Drive, Gateway of India or Haji Ali. You cannot miss the mad Mumbai monsoon as the body is ballooned by the force of the wind for the first brush of rain makes a memory tale etched forever in the mind.

5.  Mad mad love. Intimate caress, rain and the cold that wafts in will make your partner long and crave for your skin as you indulge in passionate love, not holding yourself as both breaks all limits, witnessed by the mighty rain spreading havoc outside. The best time to make love and kiss intensely is during the monsoon and who knows it might get distracted.

Anyone game to speak about S-E-X

We belong to the land of Kamasutra and yet why so many of us Indians as well citizens with strong Indian roots shy away from discussing on sex? It's a shame as to how the genius of painting M.F Hussain was shooed away in his own land and was forced to die in exile. Let's face it the ancient Indian approach to sex was more liberal in both approach and outlook.
We live in a repressed world and society is doing everything to repress our sexuality. Mind you, it's the handiwork of religious extremists who choose to live their sex life in private. But, when it comes to commoners, they raise a hue-and-cry brandishing religion, morality and scriptures-whichever religion they belong to. At the end of the day, sacred book emerges as the winner at the altar of the basic needs of human beings. This is one of the reason why there are so many rapes albeit violence happening in society. Unfortunately, many parents shy away from explaining to children the A-Z of sex. By explaining the basic of sex it is important to explain to children the virtues of procreation but it is also important that the children be taught on the need to respect woman and a dignified man must always respect the wishes of a woman.
When something goes wrong in society we should always ask the how and why? On the onset, it's the way society educate us as to how to behave and respond in society. Assume a six year old ask someone a question on a picture of a naked body he or she encountered, if we chose to respond in, avoid it. It's only for pervert, we are labelling a child as a pervert and he will gave more or less the same response. It is a case of self-fulfilling prophesy.
Vatsyayana must be an excited man and he wrote the sex manual to make our lives relatively easy and smooth. Okie, we choose to guard our private lives, our religious practices but at least, we can speak about sex. We are not committing any form of blasphemy or bigotry by speaking about sex. Chill, guys and gals, it's a three letter word S-E-X. The simple words are not implicit and we are not revealing too much. We are not the next Emraan or Malika neither we are flaunting our prized assets. There is nothing wrong in discussing about sex. Nothing abnormal or weird in that. Okie, when was the last time you had sex, 2 weeks back, one hour ago or last night. That's it. You don't need to give an explanation as to what you did or undone..we are not getting there, to say the least.
Even Hindi films have started to depict love-making scenes and we are actually faraway from the time when two rose flowers were depicted movie. Kissing and sex are the most natural thing for a normal human being. India as a country has a huge collection of sex, stamps, postcards, pottery, images and different love-making skills and I think the best way to prove a change in mindset is to have a sex museum. Why not? I may think that I am going too far. No! seriously. The museum may run the risk of being forced in exile and those 200 bucks paid thugs will get an orgasm in destroying it while our TV channels will be only to glad to cover. Post that. everything shall be so peaceful as those thugs will indulge in desi daaru and force their wives to have sex. Those poor women subjected to sexual violence will oblige to the rape advances of dear hubby. Pati parmeshwar.
Sex is a metaphor or is it so? No, we choose not to speak about sex, our text books will not teach kids the basics of sex while those so called defenders of moral rights will slip in at night on the sex market or silently watch porn in their room much to the chagrin of their partners. The partners who have desire which is not being fulfilled. Did someone ever asked why so many have extra-marital affairs. The answer is soo simple. I'm not in any case justifying extra-marital affairs and I will never do so. It's just a simple debate which seeks clarity on the subject-matter.
In the same way we tend to lash at homosexuals and ban alcohol in society. Just imagine a minister waking up on the wrong foot and decide to ban condoms. Just kidding. It can happen coz everything is possible in our small, tiny and beautiful world. It looks like those gentlemen can decide what is good and bad for us. Lumpen elements will only be too happy to enforce the ban through violence as it happens on V-day.
Let's stop be so puritanical about the three letter words. India has a rich sexual and erotic heritage which came into being much before anyone in the west. It is inherent in our culture and let's not shy away from it. Refusing to deal will sex will trigger many problem since our society and frustration of any form in the expression of desire is the worst that can happen to mankind. Let's create the avenue of desire and passion. We should and must not repress our sexuality as it is part of our individuality.

Below 25: Sorry patron..you are too small to have a drink!!!!

Criminals may not be born, they are created through a monster called stupid laws and legislation. The brain behind them: Government. They dare say that we young people are not responsible enough and that they should be the one deciding what is morally good and bad for us. How ridiculous! I mean it is insane coz we don't know what we are doing with our life. Congress is claiming paternity is our new age mai Baap..as if we are some fucking chutiya..please pardon my language. Our new age self claimed parents have raised the drinking age from 18 to 25.
I don't know. We are living in a time where double standard is the norm of the day. Every time political activists of the main political parties visit Mumbai for their so-called conferences or seminars, well find out where they are after the conference. IT IS A FACT: They are in Kamathipuran. And, they dare teach us morality and have the guts to bring the legal drinking age to 25. Their point is: We young people are immature and don't know what we are doing. C'mon, get a life. If someone has the right to vote at the age of 18, it means that the person has the legitimate right to have a glass of whisky or Vodka. If people can have sex at the age of 18 and in many cases below that, then where is the stupid argument of no BOOZE below 18. It's such crap and utter nonsense.
We are young but we are not irresponsible or idiots that we don't know what to do in our life. A 20 year old can write book, go for an MBA or can be practise as a lawyer or can aspire to become an MP. By the way where all the young MPs? Why are they silent or are they toeing the party line in the garb of hypocrisy? Statistics has shown that many who are beyond 30 or 40 or even 60 something uncles go home drunked, beat their wives and forcibly fuck. Then those adopted fathers and mothers can also pass a law: Increase the voting age to 25 or the marriage age to 25. Since the young people don't have the maturity to drink, they do not have the maturity to get marriage and indulge in the fucking game. Similarly, they don't have the maturity to vote. I dare those bloody non-sensical hypocrites to do that.
Better still, don't issue a licence for driving till he or she has reached the age of 25. Whenever something has been banned, it's all for grabs. Trust me on that. The ban on alcohol for youngsters will lead to a thriving black market. Same case for weed. We all know that it's illegal in India as well as in many countries to have a toke but this illegal market is a flourishing business. I think it's time for those politicians to get some education on real issues affecting the country  You have the guts to risk my life by letting terrorists attack my state, city or country every 2 years. Still, you have the fucking gut to tell..oh! sorry!..not to tell me but order that I cannot drink.
I am not condoning the abuse of alcohol. I know for sure that alcohol has destructive effects for not just the individual but also for the family and society at large. I am only hitting at the hypocrisy of our society. My point is simple: I am not stupid and I have a right to make a choice for my life. I have the right to be in a live-in relationship, to have sex at whatever age I chose to and with whom. It's not to the government to come forward and draft some stupid laws when they have just woken up from their leniency or dream.
At the time I am writing a post, a terrorist attack has just hit the capital city Delhi at the court where 11 people have been killed and 62 injured.
Now will our respected netas tell us why they can protect us from terror attacks? Still they want to teach us as to how to lead our lives? I leave it to your own conclusion. Looks like some people just woke up from their dreams, imagining it to be our reality.
