Dating Tips

You like her but are unsure about your feelings and confused how to pop up the simple question to her, I like you. Are you game for dating? It's a tricky question, no matter how self-confident you are and there is always the fear of rejection.  There are days when you will sing happily in the house and jump like a 'deewana' as your wandering heart will pop widely and shine at the thought of her face. Skip counting the heart beats coz it doesn't get you the girl but signal to the brain that you like her. It's the time to act, babe.

1. Sleep with the cell phone
Before getting the girl, do the net practice with the cellphone who comes handy and partner-in-gloves in more than one ways. Yeah! sleep with the cellphone, be gentle and cuddle each other. There is one emotion called sms that will bring both of you closer. Take the plunge and just drop a hi, what u doing? Sms has set the tone for so many love stories and brought so many closer. You will get to know each other very and lotsa secrets will be shared since it's a veiled world where both of you can flirt without being conscious. Trust me on that.

2. Chatting
What night owls and romantics like me do in the middle of the night? It's no secret that we are not porn surfers, Facebook is getting on us and G-chat provides the platform for many love stories. It's cheaper and free of cost when you've run down phone balance due to your 100+ smses in the middle of the night. It's fun and you can share romantic songs with each other. I love sending romantic songs as a hint is dropped without spelling the tough and most difficult words, I like you, I wanna date you or you are forever in my thoughts.

3. Write a poem for her
Girls actually love to be wooed by a nice, soft and romantic poem where you flatter her beauty, albeit eyes, hair and face. Poem never goes out of fashion. So what are you waiting for? Duck into your creative clothes and start writing a beautiful and romantic poem that you can sms her to wish good morning.

4. Romantic and Love forwards
Be romantic. Girls love to be surprised by romantic forwards that you can easily get online and this will get them thinking on your true intention till the bait bites. An incurable romantic will sweep the girl off her feet by forwarding her the beautiful forwards which will warm up her heart. This is a sign that you are interested in her and that love matters over everything else.

 5. Surprise her with flowers
Flowers makes our day and you can start by buying her a white rose to extend your hand of friendship. As your relationship gently moves to flirting, buy her a red rose as you walk down the busy streets together. There is nothing more romantic when both of you stop by the flower shop as you bend on your knees in front of the crowd to kiss her hand and tender the red rose.

 6. Be Chivalrous
In this age of social media mushrooming and big, fancy talks of equality between both sexes, women adore a chivalrous man who opens the door of the plush BMW, fancy apartment and hold her chair when you take her in the high-end restaurant. Chivalry never goes out of fashion no matter how much life changes and it has nothing to do with being conservative. A gentleman goes out of his way to make his women look beautiful and be happy inside.

7. Ask her for coffee
It's probably the easiest way to ask a woman out for a date. I personally love coffee and I believe it is a gentleman way to ask a woman out since a coffee date brings people closer. On a coffee date, you can make your woman comfortable and let her do the talking. One word of caution: Never monopolize the conversation and make her feel important. Let her strum with her hair so that she can give you the signs that she wants you too. Be gentle and make her the princess. It's not about You, You, You but it's about HER since you want to date her.

8. Movie date
Among all things, the movie date is the natural one after you've taken her out for coffee. There is nothing more beautiful than holding her hand in the movie theater as she leans on your shoulder. Pluck a gentle kiss on her lips and make the first movie date a memorable experience for both of you to remember.

Reasons why Rom-Com Novels Will Never Go Out of Fashion

Move over hard-core super speciality brain-wired intellectuals decrying that rom-com novels sells dreams in an anaesthetic package! The world love entertainment and love the love you make-cum-the boy meets girl chemistry. We all love the glamor from time-to-time, don't we? Lovers relish the dream world that weaves magic and dil toh bachcha hai ji..even as grown up, we indulge in rollicking pleasures and sins as we die to read the rom-com novels that once melted our hearts.

Remember, when we were sixteen..age to explore everything related to the beautiful-girl-next-door in our colony, holding the red rose close to the heart and the sheepish smile she sported and laughed at us but the attention she craved for. Don't we still love watching the candy-floss romance and songs of Maine Pyar Kiya, Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin, Dil Kya Kasoor, Aashiqui, Saajan as well so many 90s love flicks? You bet! hahaha!

1. Youth forms an important chunk of India's population and will continue growing to sustain the vibrant economy. The call center, young college-going crowd swarm to the movie theatres that set the ticket counter ringing and most of the paper-back rom-com sell like hot vada-pav. We all love to be loved, cuddle and the feeling of reading the rom-com is comforting as we long for emotional zing. It keeps hope alive even if you are single and Chetan Bhagat's next may well be your love story.

2. Just stand at VT or Churchgate Station in Mumbai and witness the flurry of commuters running to catch the local to office. Life is tough and what with the daily tension, we all love to bury our head deep in a candy-flossy romantic novel and seek an escape to emotions, love, kisses and warm comfort. Stories can be churned and remember, all the authors have been through crushes, love at first sight, flirting and break-ups. There must be an ounce of truth in the rom-coms. It can be your love story.

3. Rom-com is about you&me and all that matters. It teaches us to love, be affectionate and sensitive to this beautiful girl or boy. It's all about emotions, tickling of the heart and romance on the streets and the soul. Books are great teachers as our emotions is transported from one place to another and the highway of love never goes out of fashion.

4. Rom-com is about one city as love travels from one city to another. It captures and captivates the soul of a city. Many love stories were penned in Mumbai, Delhi or even the small towns in India. Case in point: One Night at the Call Centre, Two States, Bombay Girls Bombay Rains, I am Broke..Love Me, If It's Love It's Forever and many more stories whipped in a particular city. It brings a sense of belonging and inspiration to fall in love...It's the flavor of the season.

5. Who doesn't love reading mushy romance? It's a tale of self-belief, a love that will unfold itself as we nurture hope that love will happen soon at 360 degrees. It's like a surprise bouquet of flowers and mint chocolates offered to us as we tend to claim, so what it didn't happen, it will!

6. Flirting and romance is healthy and good for health. It makes us feel wanted and there is no better feeling that being love as the beautiful princess waits for me, the Knight in shining armor. I wait for the perfect princess as it makes my heart bounce with joy. It's a dream that we live for and dreams nurture hope that is turned into reality.

 7. Romance is relatable as often rom-coms are set against college backdrop. Where the fuck do you expect romance to start? Sitting together in classroom, holding hands in college canteens, sweet innocent crushes, first kissing, watching movies together, hugging and innocent sms-es in the middle of the night.  It's all in the real. So what, newbie writers like me bullshit a lot but the premise is not entirely fancy. Rom-com brings you back to your bestest college days.

8. Romance is not dumb. The new-age authors range from journalists to tech geeks and finance people who write in the modern day. Chetan Bhagat was an investment banker before he turned to a full-fledged rom-com writer. Your audience can be anyone. I am an Economics graduate and yet I am a lover of rom-coms and who says love, romance and sex clash with markets and mixing of solutions H2O.

9. Most of the times, rom-coms comes across as the relationship guide handbook that add spice in our boring life. It teaches both men and women a lot on what to do and what not to in a romantic relationship as well how to make your relationship. For example, utterly boring men can take a leaf on how to treat their women with love and respect. Maschism and regressive behavior is passe and what matters is equality between men and women. You don't believe me, right?! Next time, when you stop at Crossword or Landmark as well as walking your way for dinner at night, just pick a rom-com on the street. There are plenty of them mushrooming.

10. Who says men don't like rom-coms or don't write romantic outing? I am the biggest example and fan of not only rom-coms that I constantly devour but munch on Cosmo Women and Femina. After all, we guys need to know what goes inside the brains of a woman..speak of women psychology.

I am writing a rom-coms based in Mumbai between love and romance between a Hindu boy and a Muslim girl. I rest my case and excited to join the rom-coms brigade.

Bucket List to make before Flying

You gotta take a long flight away from home, to home and to a brand new place in that place of the world where you have no relatives, friends or ancestors or pets, anxiety pangs hit you hard. You planning to travel for few days, weeks, months, a year or for ever, no worry! Have you ever tried a bucket list of stuffs to bring with you? If you wanna play Mr Cool, Miss Cool and don't wanna carry excess baggage, what are parents for? Of course, they love pestering you to bring X, Y, Z doesn't matter if you will use the stuffs or chuck them mid-way. I hate carrying lotsa stuffs along yet things are always forced down the luggage. No tension. Here, are few thing that you may need.

1. Toiletries
Forget what your mom says, there are certain things that you may need if you are relocating. Take a toothbrush, mini-toothpaste and facewash and you may just do like me, I buy the most inexpensive toothbrush and paste coz I know that I will chuck it out and give to someone. It comes handy for first few days before I locate a shop. If I am re-locating to any city in India, I know that toiletries is easily available and, thus, have no qualm in carrying them. But, owing to mom prodding me, I take the stuffs along. Also, don't forget wet cotton tissue, cologne and cotton pads that help you during the long, overhaul flight.

2. Clothes
Normally, I hate carrying lotsa of clothes that will make my luggage heavy and for which the fucked up airport authority will screw my credit card or cash. I normally take three to four tee, three shirts, few socks, underwear, single trousers and a pair of jeans as well as few banyans. That much is enough till the time I settle down and may buy some stuffs for personal use.

3. Book (s)
I normally take a book or two which I carry in my backpack so that I am able to read in the plane. I hate flying by plane coz I can't get sleep and, therefore, reading comes as a pleasurable self-indulging stuff. It's another matter that I hardly read coz of the spirits and food. How I wish I could move places without taking the cursed plane. Just hate it!

4. Medicines
This is one thing I go along with what mom insists I take in my travel pouch. You cannot know when a headache might struck you off the seat, face loose motion and minor hiccups during your flight. I normally take immodium, panadol and other related drugs. What I can't do without is the sleeping pills in my attempt to crash on my seat if I am getting bored and I know I
will, during the stupid flight. I normally take Amoxil since when the plane lands, I can't bear the excruciating stomach pain and pangs in the ear. On my way from Dubai to Mumbai, I popped a pill and was able to sleep for some time. Trust me, it helps.

5. Snacks
Lol! Kidding! You've paid for the air ticket and don't think, they will refuse to give you some snacks to munch along with your drinks. I did managed to sneak in a bottle of water inside, despite its strictly not allowed. But, do it at your own risks!

6. Notebook
Since I love writing, I always make it a point to carry along pen and notebook to scribble along since you don't enjoy the perk of using Ipad and laptop in economy class. The Ipad is nicely slinked inside the backpack, along with the lappie bag cushioned  under the plane seat.

7. Other related lists
-Place all heavy items at the bottom of the luggage.
-make way for socks, handkerchiefs and mini stuffs in between your heavy stuffs
-carry valuable stuffs with your own, ever-moving body
-make sure you check all items before you lock the luggage

8. Check passport before leaving home
It's a near obsessive habit that I have nurtured over time at the risk of being called a jerk. I make sure to check my stuffs, including luggage, passport and air tickets thousand times before leaving home. I do freak out and ensure that I may not go back home to pick up stuffs nicely forgotten on the table.

Bon Voyage and enjoy the trip.

Smell the Kaffee

You know you love coffee when you cannot resist the urge of buying a cup of boiling coffee at the airport when you are waiting for your flight. You know coffee smell like sex when everything break loose as you dash over the counter and ask for the cuppa coffee. Yet, you are oblivious of the fact that your moron friend is conspiring behind your back when he lovingly buy you coffee in the plastic cup and tenders the cup in your hand. He urges you to drink the coffee by sweet talking you that the coffee you've been longing for is getting cold. It's like the same moron friend attempting to barge in your room when you are in the middle of hot, sexy and passionate sex.
It happened one night when I was scheduled to fly for Mumbai, decades back. It was raining heavily and I was feeling cold like hell. A good and dear friend came to drop me, along with mom and dad at the airport..what with the teary-eyed parents and me super excited to be back in Mumbai, we decided to soothe the mood by having kaffee. My kind-hearted friend was gung-ho in doing us the honors and he prodded me to walk with him, while mom and dad waited in the airport lobby, to enjoy our coffee along with a fag outside, far away from the gaze of seniors. I was super excited as I loove ma coffee with a fag during winter. He shouted, 'What are you waiting for? Gulp the coffee jaldi, dude. It's getting cold.' The nice sajjan guy that I am, nipped the coffee down my throat and almost jumped in a state of paralysis. The throat was burning like hell and it took me a while to understand that the coffee was hot as hell, like the MTV Splitsvilla babes. The man split one's sides and indulged in a laughing riot. What a kamina friend while I was left languishing in hell.
