Xmas List 10

The time of the year when everyone is planning for expensive vacations, trying for cheap flights or hotel deals, expensive wine, splurge or, for that matter,  shopping for gifts. How about going minimalistic and make a difference to yours or someone's else life? A few ideas this Xmas season.

1. Craft Santa Claus DIY Greeting cards that can be sold on social media, bookshops or supermarkets to earn a decent profit at an affordable price. You can also contribute one-tenth of the proceed to charity.

2. Go on a solo trip, breathe and take it easy being with yourself leaving all stress behind.

3. Fund the education of a child or Girl Child, contribute to a social cause empowering women or spend a day in a shelter with underprivileged children surprising them with homemade food, chocolates and sweets.

4. Treat yourself with Ayurvedic massage and go for a self-healing course.

5. Learn to play a new musical instrument, be it piano, guitar or sarong.

6. Binge watch movies or sitcoms for an entire day on Net Flix.

7. Treat yourself to the favorite iced cake or chocolate fudge you've been craving and resisting the temptation for months in the quest for diet control.

8. Hide gifts under the bed, pillows, kitchen and couch days before Xmas, forget about it and discover it on the day or invite children to pull the covers to pick a random one.

9. Go on a road trip, exploring the picturesque views and if you are with your partner, make out in the car. A merry affair to remember.

10. Gatecrash a party, yeah right! Be bold and be a risk taker.

A chrismassy story

Xmas bells tinkling
Whispers of white bearded Santa.
The lullaby of love.
Stars shining in dreams.
A prayer for love and togetherness.
May no child is starved and deprived of love, food and toys.
Spread the cheers.
Fill the heart with love and not hatred, intolerance or prejudice.

Merry X-mas

There are quite a few Xmas stories where I waited with bated breath for Santa Claus as a child, polishing my shoes in shining black on the eve with the hope to secretly watch the protruded belly of the white bearded dude filling them with toys. I waited vainly at night. The excitement went for a  toss when I slept.

Trust the parents to fool you with the lamest excuses on Xmassy Day that I shouldn't have slept and Santa in red hood waited in vain but had to leave since he is old and must attend to so many children. I innocently asked whether they gave him Coke that I made Dad buy for him. I was told he had a little in a mug. I stormed my way and forgot about Santa's plight to possessively clutch the toy gun, lego and cars that Santa gave me and showed to the neighbor children.

Spasm of Xmas memory and naughty me flashes in the mind as if it was yesterday only that I was a child. I remember the fancy toy guns and funky yellow paper sunglasses that I forced Mom to buy at the shop when I almost broke in tears to have them all. Tears and children, I tell you! It's the best weapon to fake mass destruction of the heart as if the world gonna end.

It was the same story every Xmas for me when I smartly rolled on the floor in front of shops lining up flashy and colorful toys. My objects of fascination were always guns and cars.  Mom got wind of this natak that she called a cop doing sentry and in no time, I was up in arms. Of course, not without sulking. On another occasion. I would ask Mom for my bath and was ready by 2 o'clock, waiting for Dad to come home early since he promised so that we would all go together to buy my toys. I waited and waited with patience, fearing that Pop will come late today. I almost cried.

Finally, Dad came and went out. Once. I got a bicycle as Xmassy present and the next day, tricking Pop to get me an automatic police van for 75 bucks only. You press on it and the engine rolls back. What fun it was! The magic and hot wheels,

It was Xmas day and I wanted this toy vehicle but Mom wouldn't relent. She had to visit some relatives and once she was out, I convinced Dad to take me to that shop to buy choco. When we went there, I grabbed the toy and never relented to let it go. I was Pop's favorite and he had no choice after all for the apple of his eyes. See! Emotional blackmail always worked for me.

Merry Merry Xmas N Love

Santa Claus is coming tonight

Santa Claus! Santa Claus is coming!
Polish the shoes shiny black,
paint the town by wearing red.
Decorate the X-Mas tree with trinket and bells.
Stay awake till midnight,
the eyes getting all teary but finally the lids close.
Tired of waiting for the white bearded fellow,
crossing the seas, clouds and mountains.
He's an old dude, carrying bundle of gifts for everyone.
Sad, I can't see him and say Hi.
I always wanted to hold his hand, touch his skin and feel how real he is.
Hey! Old chum! Every time, I miss you to death and reveal yourself this time,
for I wanna whisper my wish into your ears.
So many dreams to share and convey my aspirations to you for you can make them real.
Fascinated I am with your boots, red clothes, specs falling on your long nose and white beard.
Where do you come from?
What do you?
Where you stay?
I wanna know it all, everything about you.
Come on! Spell it out!
Do you drink wine?
I shall keep some vodka for you.
They say, variety keeps you hale and hearty.
I wanna see all my toys and goodies in the misty morning.
Excited I am! Hungry for more.
I wanna all the toys, miracles and happiness.
Every December 25, you make a difference to children like me in spreading happiness.
You make me glow.
I shall make a positive difference to the lives of others.
It's a vow.
Perhaps, only then I will not doze on X-mas and we will meet.
Longing to see you, Santa Claus.
Merry X-Mas.

With Love

Christmas bells

New kid is back on the blog. Hurray!Hip Hip Hurray! As we wait in anticipation for Christmas and  gorging on delightful chocolates, party and after party, I chose Vodka for this Christmas and a good Dvd. Can't wait to watch for Tees Maar Khan, with Akki and Kats. The promos looks exciting and superb this 24 December. Countdown: 12 more days to come and Santa Claus shall sneak into our houses and carefully place beautiful gifts and toys in our clean, polished room. Kids of the world polish your shoes coz Father Christmas shall bless them with Chocolates and gifts.
Some of us will decorate the X-mas tree with miniature decorations and small gift wrap. The old tiresome Father Christmas with a huge bag, filled with toys, sweets and blessings, dressed in red and black boots shall mount an arduous task to reach our homes. He shall climb mountains, climbs and face snows and at midnight, he will reach our homes, tired like hell. We shall be sleeping peacefully while the old man tired will exude a smile to our innocent face and offer us blessings. The time we wake up in the morning, we shall jump with delight as we unfold our gift wrap, unaware of Father Christmas presence. We shall search for him but he is laughing and smiling saying, where are you searching, I am all around,I stay in your heart.
Pals, dear Pals, Father Christmas shall be very tired after visiting so many houses. Put some nice music for him before sleeping and keep some juice for him to drink coz he's very tired and shall be very tired coz there are plenty of children's houses he gotta visit.
Toc,toc Father christmas is knocking on ma door.
Lemme go and see.
bye bye
Alvida.
