Flash Fiction Lust and the letter

The night of lust

She walked seductively on the tip of her toe inside the dark room adorned with a sole candle lit on the ivory table. The slim and toned face woman seductively smiled at her man. He felt a spurt of electrified energy rushing down his spine and eyes wouldn’t let go of the beautifully sculptured tanned face and bare shoulders. A man possessed by the dusky beauty evoking sensuality, possessed by a fiery force which dragged him towards her. He felt motionless sitting on the white speckled floor.  She was real and a mystery at the same time lying in the hazel brown eyes, curly hair falling on the face and the tongue slathered to her lip as she slowly held the rough male hand, inviting him to heavenly bliss. He nodded. The man was possessed by this ravenous beauty who meant the world to him. Tonight was special. He never saw her in this sexy avatar and it seemed that she was the incarnation of the Goddess of lust, in a stark contrast to the coy bride.  Their eyes met and spoke thousand of words uniting two whole bodies coalesced into a whole as they rolled on the floor and holding each other tight.  They were unfazed by the heavy panting behind them and drop of blood stains on the floor. She whispered, “It’s our night. Quench our thirst of making mad mad love as if tomorrow never comes.” “Take me with you to taste this nectar of love and lust”, he moved his parched lip. The wind whistled like a siren and traversed inside the room, caressing the two inert bodies copulated into each other in a splash of blood.

The lost letter

The postman has stopped coming to the office. She drew a fit and accused him of hiding the letters, mumbling like a mad woman on how no letter reached her doorstep. “Where is my letter?” She asked herself every single day. The whole desk went upside down when she ruffled through the papers, documents and newspapers to hunt for the treasure. Many colleagues thought that she was afflicted by some disease and convinced her to visit the most handsome psychiatrist in town. The gentleman reassured her, ‘Oh! You are a completely fine lady. Write me a letter instead. Forget your lover for a day.’ She protested, “But, he is in Venice and told me that he posted a love letter with a ring inserted to propose marriage.” The lovelorn woman was convinced that someone has hidden the letter in the office and stole her golden ring. She was verging on insanity and drove to the post office every day sitting throughout. One day, she got a call from Italy and the lover casually said, “Oh! Since I was coming to meet you, the letter was never sent. I just forgot about it.” She protested and felt stupid for creating a furor, paying money to the handsome psychologist and chasing the postmaster down the road like a witch with her hair fluttering in all directions.

Letter to my Love

Dear Love,

As I write this letter to you, it makes me wonder whether it's the best thing to pour my feeling to you. Ah! I can sense what going in your head. Confused!!! Why you are reading this letter? There are certain things that I cannot pour out or open my heart to tell in person. The letter helps me to be true to the self and tell how much I love you. True, things are far from rosy between us. We are going through a rough phase and I guess this happens with many relationships.
I want to save our relationship and, trust me, my optimist heart tells that we will reach our destination in this beautiful journey of love. There are so many things that I wanted to tell you, how I felt when you ignored my calls, sms-es and when you were chatting to your pals or the handsome guy as if I don't exist at all. I felt bad and your silence is killing me. It makes me hyper and awake throughout the night. After all, why I am doing that? Is it worth it?
I believe in our relationship. Till, you don't say anything that bugging you, I won't be able to to take on the world. I need your support. Together, we are force and your existence competes me as a person. Fine, you want me to take on the world but alone, I don't think it's possible.
I am so confused at the turn our relationship is taken, your dreaded silence and mood swings. To be very blunt, it irks me to no end. Sometimes, I feel that we will make it and sometimes no. Why things has dramatically changed between us. Is it the weather or our tastes? After being with each other for long, have we discovered we are so different rather than similar? Such things are killing me slowly. You know that. I want to see the real you. At least for once, we can be truthful to each us, no matter how much it hurts our ego and feel that it may jeopardize our relationship.
We've spent priceless moments with each other, dancing in the monsoon, kissing at Marine Drive, holding hands, laughing like crazy, doing stuffs in full glare that people thought we run away from the asylum. We've carved Kodak moments live that will always stay with us. I am convinced about it and hope the feeling is mutual for both of us.
I still remember the first time we met when I asked to share the table at the sea-faced restaurant. You were my saving grace since I wanted to have a smoke with my coffee. We laughed and smoked together. How you made a straight face when I asked for your phone number. If only looks could kill, I would have been dead by now!! We sat together on the boulders where the waves crashed. You held up to me. I can still feel your fragrance when our eyes meet, our lips melted into each other's mouth. We held hands and became physically intimate without realizing how our hearts met. Perhaps, we kissed much before we fell in love with each other. The kiss sealed our fate. I knew on the day that we have a deep and soulful connection that only tragedy could tear us apart. I felt emotionally drawn to you. It was the best day of my life. It was magically divine.
We fought with each other. it turned ugly at times but we mollycoddle each other with sweet nothings. cute whispers and lots of laugh. I love the way you fling things in anger and the sheepish smile that makes me fall in love with you over and over again.
Perhaps, we need to break off from each other for a while, work out our priorities in life and relish our personal spaces. Sometimes, silence may after not be so bad if it works for you. I would like you to reach this expressive letter and take call on our relationship. I shall always love you.

PS: This letter is a fiction and bears no ressemblance to any person nor it's inspired by someone's love or break up story.

The death of letter?!

Remember the times when we would hold the cramped letters between our fingers and run down the blue ink, agog with excitement on the news that traveled across the seas. It was the time when a cousin and a pen pal would write to us. That was the time when there was no e-mail, sms, G-chat or facebook. Despite social networking site has reduced the distance across country or border, I feel that no social media can replace the joy of reading a letter or receiving a birthday or New Year Greeting card.
I still remember the times when, as kids, we would accompany our pop and mom to the market to select a beautifully designed greeting card or writing pad to bring home. I would nice sit and chose the best pen to put my thoughts black-and-white on paper. Great care would be taken to fold the letter in the envelope and write the address in my best ever handwriting. I would walk my way to the post and as I stick the stamp and slide the envelope inside, there would be a feeling of immense  satisfaction and pride. The feeling would reciprocate itself as I run towards the post man to receive the letter or card that bears my name. Just imagine your name written all over the envelope that traveled across border or countless seas! It really make a difference to your entire existence.
It's sad that today, technology and social networking sites has crippled the entire joy of writing letters and post cards. Your best buddy's birthday round the corner. Why worry? Just write on his or her wall or still better, a virtual e-card.
Somehow, I feel that the kids high on techno stuffs are missing the joy of letters that flows from the post office as well as the joy of writing a letter to a pal across border. Isn't it a case of robbing the child of the fun of a beautiful childhood? Dunno, perhaps I am reaching the elixir or mid-life crisis or I am totally wrong in finding faults with gadgets. As human beings, sometimes we are reluctant to accept the change or less ready to embrace the novel ideas flowing in the form of technology. Today's kids may not really be a problem but our generation may find it hard to accept that things we are so used to are changing. Sometimes, I wonder whether new age kids will ever enjoy something called post office. I would be crest fallen if some kid ask me what is post office and I shall tell..well...what's ur gadget all about?!
I still prefer the post office to do so many stuffs and it's indeed rare for me to send greetings cards by email. I still prefer to buy an Archies Greeting card and write merry christmas and happy new year and shed some extra bucks to send it all the way to a friend. It's like choosing between an e-book and a hard copy. Well, I prefer the hard copy any day. Okay okay! I admit that I have emailed greetings but it's basically to those I deal with on a professional level and some friends due to the shortage of time.
When we write a letter to a friend or a loved one, we pour our emotions and soul on that piece of white paper. It creates an emotional  bond between the one who pens the letter and the one who read the letter. At a glance, it is a conversation where we share the most mundane things that happened to our life or fuck up like break ups and the recipient can feel our love, anger and tears.
Who invented the letter? Whoever the person was, it was a stroke of genuis.
